RENO, Nev. University of Nevada head soccer coach Jaime Frias completed his first recruiting class on Thursday, announcing the addition of transfer Nikki McEachern.  McEachern, who played her first two collegiate seasons at Clemson, will join six other Nevada newcomers this the fall.

While at Clemson, McEachern advanced to the Elite Eight as a freshman in 2006.  She played in six matches with two starts for the Tigers in 2006 and appeared in two matches as a sophomore in 2007.  She was also named one of the top-25 international recruits in 2006 by Soccer Buzz.  The 5’4” defender/midfielder is a native of Calgary, AB, Canada.

Prior to Clemson, McEachern played for the Calgary Celtic Forza Division 1 club team and was a member of the Alberta Team, the Canadian National Women’s U-17 Developmental Team.  She was also a part of the National Training Center Pool and played in international tournaments with the U-17 National Team.

“I’m thrilled to have someone of Nikki’s experience join our Wolf Pack program.  Not only has Nikki played in the rigorous ACC conference but she has also been battle tested against the top international teams in the world when she represented Canada out on the soccer field,” Frias said.  “What makes Nikki special is her competitive fire.  We will look for Nikki to raise the competitive level of every training session she’s in.  We also expect her to immediately compete for a starting position within our team.”

McEachern will join six other newcomers in the fall - Natalie Ratnavira (Fallbrook, Calif.), Annabelle Allen (Littleton, Colo.), Ellie Stott (East Gosford, New South Wales, Australia), Katie Catricala (Sacramento, Calif.), Sarah Voss (Sparks, Nev.) and JoAnne Terranova (Reno, Nev.).
