Nevada Postgame Notes:

-         With the 76-63 victory Saturday night at Fresno State, Nevada clinched a share of the 2008 Western Athletic Conference regular-season championship, ending up in a four-way tie with Boise State, Utah State and New Mexico State at 12-4 in WAC play. That marks the fifth consecutive season that Nevada has earned at least a share of the WAC regular-season championship.

-         Nevada finished the regular season with a 20-10 overall record, marking its fifth consecutive year with at least 20 victories. It is the 10th 20-win season in school history.

-         Senior Marcelus Kemp led the Wolf Pack with 25 points in Saturday’s victory at Fresno State. That marked his 15th game this season and the 38th of his career with at least 20 points.

-         With his 25 points, Kemp also moved into second place on the Nevada career scoring list with 1,884 career points. He overtook Edgar Jones (1,877 points, 1975-79) with Saturday’s effort and will end his career behind just three-time WAC Player of the Year Nick Fazekas (2,464 points, 2004-07).

-         Sophomore JaVale McGee turned in his team-leading seventh double-double of the season with 23 points and 14 rebounds against the Bulldogs. He scored 17 of his 23 points in the second half, while his 23-point effort followed a career-best 26-point showing last week against Louisiana Tech. Saturday’s game marked McGee’s sixth 20-point game of the year and of his career.

-         Nevada outrebounded Fresno State 47-38 and improved to 14-2 on the year when outrebounding its opponent. The 47 rebounds also tied for the second-most boards by the Wolf Pack this season.

-         The Wolf Pack will travel to Las Cruces, N.M., next week for the 2008 WAC Tournament. As the No. 2 seed, Nevada will take on seventh-seeded Fresno State in the quarterfinals on Thursday, March 13 at 6 p.m. Mountain Time (5 p.m. Pacific Time). Nevada’s quarterfinal and semifinal games in the WAC Tournament will be televised locally by KAME-TV 21 and nationally as part of the ESPN Full Court Package, while the championship game will be televised nationally by ESPN2.
