Post-Game Notes

Nevada won its second straight game and improved to 3-2 on the season and 1-0 in Western Athletic Conference play. Nevada is now 5-4 all-time in WAC openers.

Nevada is now 17-9 all-time against Idaho and 7-7 against the Vandals in Moscow.

Nevada coach Chris Ault is now 194-87-1 all-time in his career. He is 14-4 all-time against Idaho and 6-3 against the Vandals in Moscow. Ault is now 2-3 in WAC openers.

Senior kicker Brett Jaekle is now Nevada’s all-time leader in career PATs. His fifth PAT of the day passed Marty Zendejas (1984-87) into first place with 170.

Vai Taua had his second multi-touchdown game of the season. The sophomore running back had a 3-yard TD run in the first quarter, a 1-yard scoring run in the second and a 3-yard score in the fourth. He now has seven career TDs and six this season. His previous multi-score game was a three-TD effort against Grambling State.

Sophomore quarterback Colin Kaepernick passed for 243 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 57 yards and another score in the game. In his last two games, Kaepernick has accounted for 716 yards of offense and eight touchdowns.

Kaepernick rushed for an 18-yard touchdown in the second quarter, his eighth rushing TD of the season and 14th of his career.

Senior wideout Marko Mitchell hauled in a 48-yard TD reception in the third quarter. He now has nine straight TDs, dating back to Oct. 14, 2004, of 28 yards or longer.

Mitchell has now caught a pass in 19 straight games and in 30 of his 31 career games at Nevada.

Freshman running back Lampford Mark had the best day of his career on Saturday with 15 carries for 81 yards.

Starter changes: Junior Mike Bethea started at the WOLF linebacker spot in place of Brandon Marshall.

Et cetera: Nevada held Idaho scoreless in the first half, the first time the Pack has done that since the Grambling State game ... Nevada won the coin toss and deferred to the second half ... Idaho received the opening kickoff ... Nevada will return home to Mackay Stadium next week for its first home game in a span of 35 days the fourth-longest such gap in the nation this year (Georgia, 42, Houston 40, Eastern Michigan 40).
