SACRAMENTO, Calif. The University of Nevada soccer team fell to Sacramento State, 2-0, Thursday afternoon at the Hornet Soccer Field. With the loss, Nevada fell to 0-8-2 on the year while Sacramento State improved to 5-5-1.
The Hornets scored their first goal of the game in the 40th minute as Jordan Carlberg scored off an assist from Elece McBride. Sacramento State added its second goal of the game on a penalty kick from Ashley Forbes in the 54th minute.
Sacramento State recorded 15 shots in the game while Nevada finished with eight. Jessica Thompson took a team-high four shots for Nevada while Annabelle Allen and Miranda Montejo each added two.
Sarah Hunt played the first half in goal for Nevada recording two saves. Marie Cove, who made her season debut for Nevada, played the second half for the Pack and made three saves.
Nevada will host St. Mary’s on Sunday at 1 p.m. in the Pack’s final non-conference game of the season.
