RUSTON, La. Nevada’s Jill Erickson scored the game-tying goal in the 89th minute as the University of Nevada soccer team recorded a 2-2 (2OT) tie at La Tech Sunday morning.
La Tech scored in the 62nd minute to go up 1-0 before Cristen Drummond scored 16 seconds later off Ellie Stott’s first career assist to tie the game at 1-1. The game remained tied at 1-1 until La Tech scored in the 86th minute to go ahead 2-1 before Erickson scored in the 89th minute to send the game into overtime.
Nevada ended the game with 21 shots (10 on goal) while La Tech finished the game with 16 (nine on goal). Drummond took a team-high five shots for the Pack. Nevada keeper Marie Cove made seven saves for the Pack while Cat Buchanan recorded eight for the Lady Techsters.
Nevada will return home for its final home stand of the regular season this weekend. The Pack will play Idaho on Friday at 7 p.m. and Boise State on Sunday at 2 p.m.
