Postgame Notes

- Nevada improved to 4-3 overall and 2-1 in the Western Athletic Conference.

- Nevada coach Chris Ault is now 195-88-1 all-time and 7-0 against Utah State.

- The Wolf Pack has now won four straight games against Utah State and owns a 15-4 all-time advantage in the series, which dates back to 1904.

- Sophomore running back Vai Taua had 17 carries for 122 yards and a touchdown. This is Taua’s fourth-career 100-yard game and fourth of the season. Taua now has a rushing TD in four straight games. He has scored eight touchdowns in the last three games

- Sophomore quarterback Colin Kaepernick rushed for an 18-yard touchdown in the second quarter and a 1-yard score in the fourth quarter. He now has 11 rushing touchdowns on the year.

- Senior wide receiver Marko Mitchell caught four passes for 122 yards, including a 75-yard touchdown reception. Mitchell’s last 10 touchdown receptions, dating back to Oct. 14, 2007, have all been 28 yards or longer (75, 48, 42, 48, 59, 64, 64, 28, 31, 58).

- This was Mitchell’s third 100-yard game of the season.

- Mitchell has now caught a pass in 21 straight games and in 32 of 33 games in his career.

Et cetera: ... Nevada held Utah State scoreless in the first quarter, the third time the Wolf Pack defense has accomplished that this season (Grambling State and Idaho) ... Sophomore defensive end Dontay Moch recorded two sacks and three tackles for loss ... Mike Evans started at cornerback instead of Doyle Miller ... Junior Nick Graziano started at quarterback, his first start in more than a year (vs. Fresno State, Oct. 6, 2007) ... Nevada will be away from Mackay Stadium until Nov. 15 (vs. San Jose State) ... The Wolf Pack will travel to Hawai`i next week and will enjoy a bye week before a Friday night (Nov. 7) game at Fresno State.
