Stanford, Calif. - Senior and No. 91 Caroline Bailly, sophomores Florence De Vrye and Caroline Stevens fell Saturday on the second day of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional Championships in Stanford, Calif.

In the round of 16 singles, Bailly, who was seeded 15th in the tournament draw, fell 6-1, 6-1 to second seed and No. 7 ranked Marina Cossou of California. Bailly reached the round of 16 defeating St. Mary’s Sabine Gunnarsson 6-1, 6-2.

In the round of 16 doubles, De Vrye and Stevens fell 8-5 to eight seed Jana Juricova and Marion Ravelojaona of California.

In the back draws, freshman Shannon Cassidy defeated Portland’s Tessa Trunnel 6-4, 6-4 while sophomore Aodhnait Lombard defeated San Jose State’s Jennifer Williams 6-1, 6-0. However sophomore Lais Ogata lost to St. Mary’s Mary Aloia 6-4, 6-2 and sophomore Katarina Huba fell to Washington State’s Marina Nicholas 4-6, 6-3, 6-1.

“This was a tough competition today. We are in perhaps the toughest region in the nation,” Nevada head coach Sylvain Malroux said. “We didn’t win the matches we wanted to today but it’s still exciting. We got one more day and it’s a good experience for us.”

The Wolf Pack will conclude the ITA Regional Championship on Sunday.
