The University of Nevada football team will hold its annual Silver and Blue spring scrimmage on Saturday at Mackay Stadium.

The controlled scrimmage will begin about 10 a.m. and the team will run approximately 100 plays on the day, which concludes the 15-practice spring session.

“The spring game is always an exciting event and I am looking forward to seeing how much progress we have made during spring practice,” Nevada coach Chris Ault said.

At halftime of the scrimmage, a local woman, Fini Dobyns, will have the chance to kick a 40-yard field goal to win a brand new Lexus. Dobyns will also be on the sidelines with the coaching staff for the scrimmage as she won an enter-to-win promotion sponsored by Bully’s Sports Bar and Grill, Morrey Distributing and Lexus of Reno.

Admission to the scrimmage is free. Fans are asked to sit in the stands at the stadium and to stay off the sidelines and the track at Mackay. No still or video photography is allowed with the exception of that by accredited media members. Fans are welcome to bring their own food and beverages to the game but no alcohol is allowed. Bully’s Sports Bar and Grill will be on hand cooking free hamburgers for fans.

Nevada returns 14 starters from last year’s team than went 8-5 overall and finished third in the Western Athletic Conference. Nevada went to a bowl game for the second straight season, falling 21-20 to Miami in the MPC Computers Bowl.
