RENO, Nev. The University of Nevada Athletics Department will hold tryouts for national anthem singers for its men’s and women’s basketball games on Thursday evening at Lawlor Events Center.
The tryouts will last from 6-7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18 and will be held on the court at Lawlor Events Center. Singers wishing to try out should call (775) 682-6961 to schedule a time or to obtain more information.
People with backgrounds in music who are interested in being guest judges at the tryouts also should call (775) 682-6961.
The Wolf Pack men’s and women’s basketball teams open the 2007-08 season with a doubleheader of exhibition games on Sunday, Nov. 3 at Lawlor Events Center. The men will take on Seattle Pacific at 2:05 p.m., and the women will play Sonoma State at 4:30 p.m. Exhibition tickets for the men’s game will cost $5, while admission to the women’s exhibition will be free.
