- Nevada retained possession of the Fremont Cannon with its 31-3 victory over UNLV on Saturday night at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas.
- This is Nevada's second straight victory in the rivalry, while the Wolf Pack now leads the all-time series 17-15. It also marked Nevada’s first victory at UNLV since Oct. 3, 1998, snapping a three-game losing streak in Las Vegas.
- Sophomore Mike McCoy's 79-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter was his fifth touchdown in seven receptions at the time. Last year, McCoy had one TD reception out of his 17 catches.
- The Wolf Pack's 90-scoring drive in the first quarter marked the longest drive of the year. The previous long was an 89-yarder in the season opener against Fresno State.
- Senior Joe Garcia has been on the receiving end of five turnovers in Nevada's last three games. He recovered two fumbles tonight against UNLV and had two interceptions last week against Northwestern. Prior to that, he had an interception in a victory against Colorado State.
- Senior Paul Pratt's second-quarter interception was the second of his career with the first one coming during the 2003 season.
- Through five games, Nevada has eight interceptions this season. Last year, the Pack recorded a total of 11 interceptions during its 12-game season. Sophomore Joshua Mauga also made the first interception of his career in the fourth quarter tonight.
- Freshman Brandon Fragger's 66-yard run was the longest run by a Nevada back since 2002 when Matt Milton had a 71-yard run against San Jose State.
- Fragger’s five-yard touchdown run in the second quarter marked the first rushing touchdown of the true freshman's career. He had a receiving touchdown against Colorado State on Sept. 16. His 66-yard run in the third quarter gave him his first multi-score game and his first 100-yard game as a collegian. He is the first Nevada freshman to run for 100 yards since Milton did so four times in 2002.
- Sophomore Brett Jaekle's return to Las Vegas was a successful one as the Bonanza High graduate was four-for-four on extra points and booted a 36-yard field goal, his second of the year.
- Senior Kyle Eklund's 2-yard scoring plunge in the fourth quarter was the Elko native's first career touchdown.
