RENO, Nev. -- Nevada continues to improve on its best start in program history as the Wolf Pack recorded a win and a tie over the weekend to move to 4-0-1 on the season.  Nevada beat Washington State 2-1 on Friday night and tied Eastern Washington on Sunday.  The Pack's 1-0-1 mark on the weekend marks the first time in program history Nevada went unbeaten on a road series.  Nevada puts its 11 game home unbeaten streak on the line this weekend the team faces Wyoming and UC Davis.

All-Time vs. the University of Wyoming Cowgirls:
This is the first meeting between Nevada and Wyoming. 

Scouting the University of Wyoming Cowgirls:
Wyoming dropped to 1-4-1 on the season after a pair of losses to Miami (Ohio) and Old Dominion over the weekend.  The Cowgirls lost to Miami (Ohio) 2-1 and Old Dominion 1-0 in double overtime. Wyoming has also dropped games to #21 Wake Forrest and Tulsa.  The Cowgirls tied NC State 0-0 in double overtime and recorded a 1-0 victory over Montana.  Four Wyoming players each recorded a goal for the Cowgirls.  Defensivley Wyoming has recorded two shutouts, as two Cowgirl goalies have seen significant playing time.  Keeper Ashley Sceppard has given up four goals and has a 1.01 GAA in four games, while goalie Jamie Scarcliff has played in three matches and has allowed five goals and has a 2.00 GAA. Wyoming is coached by eighth year head coach Ann Moore.  Moore has a 48-76-15 career record at Wyoming.

All-Time vs. the UC Davis Aggies:
UC Davis leads the all-time series between the two schools.  The Aggies won a 2-0 game last season in Davis, Calif. as the Aggies scored the game-winning goal in the 87th minute and added a second goal with 14 seconds remaining in the match.  UC Davis outshot Nevada 11-8 in the game.   

Scouting the UC Davis Aggies:
The Aggies are 3-1 on the season with its only loss coming at the hands of Sacramento State.  This season UC Davis has recorded wins over San Francisco, San Jose State in double overtime and Idaho State.  The Aggies are outscoring its opponents 8-4 this season.  Dayna Dumont leads the team in goals (2) and shots (11).  Goalie Megan Daws has played every minute of the Aggies four games this season and has given up four goals.  She has recorded two shutouts this season and has a 0.99 GAA.  UC Davis is coached by MaryClaire Robinson.  Robinson is in her 14th year with the Aggies and has a 144-101-19 record.  

Last Week's Results vs. Washington State and Eastern Washington:
Nevada recorded a 1-0-1 record on the road over the weekend, beating Washington State 2-1 and tying Eastern Washington 1-1 in double overtime.  On Friday night, sophomore Miranda Montejo (Riverside, Calif.) beat Washington State keeper from 25 yards out to give Nevada a 1-0 lead.  Fellow sophomore Samantha Miller (Riverside, Calif.) scored on a breakaway in the 29th minute when sophomore Jessica Thompson (Ogden, Utah) played Miller in behind the Cougar defense.  Washington State scored its only goal on the game in the 77th minute, and Nevada came away with a 2-1 victory.  Red shirt freshman goalie, Caitlin Holmes (Las Flores, Calif.) recorded three saves.  Nevada kept it's undefeated streak alive on Sunday when the team recorded a 1-1 double overtime tie at Eastern Washington.  The Eagles got on the board first in the 44th minute.  Nevada's Montejo tied the game a 1-1 in the 49th minute off a penalty kick.  The Pack received the PK after senior Lauren Kinneman (Sammamish, Wash.) was taken down in the box after trying to collect the rebound from sophomore Karen Zmirak's (Oakville, Ontario, Canada) shot that hit off the cross bar.  Holmes made eight saves for Nevada. 

Holmes Named WAC Defensive Player of the Week:
Red shirt freshman goalie, Caitlin Holmes (Las Flores, Calif.) was named WAC Defensive Player of the Week for Sept. 11.  This is the second WAC Player of the Week Honor for the Wolf Pack as sophomore defender Randee Robinson (Port Orchard, Wash.) was named defensive player of the week in Sept. 5.  Holmes made 11 saves in two matches as Nevada recorded a road victory at Washington State and a tie at Eastern Washington.  The Wolf Pack defense allowed just two goals over the weekend as Holmes posted a goals against average of 0.90 over the weekend.  Holmes has a 0.42 GAA for the season having played 425 minutes in goal for Nevada. 

Program Firsts:
Nevada stands alone at the top of the WAC with its 4-0-1 record...The Pack's win and tie over the weekend gave the squad its first unbeaten road series in program history...The 1-0-1 record over the weekend also gave Nevada its best road record in program history as the team is 2-0-1 after beating Sacramento State, Washington State at tying Eastern Washington...Nevada's 4-0 record thorough its first four games (Sacramento State, Wisconsin-Green Bay, Northern Iowa and Washington State) marks the longest winning streak in program history, while the Pack's 4-0-1 record is the longest unbeaten streak in program history.

Nevada continues to sit alone atop the WAC with its 4-0-1 record...The Pack is the only WAC team that has not lost a game...Nevada continues to outscore its opponents holding a 10-2 advantage in goals scored...Sunday's match at Eastern Washington marked the first time this season the Pack did not score before its opponents...Nevada has not been shutout this season and is tied with Fresno State and Hawaii for fewest goals allowed (2)...Karen Zmirak leads the WAC in points with nine...Miranda Montejo and Samantha Miller are tied for ninth with five points each...Zmirak also leads the WAC in points per game, averaging 1.80 points per game...Jessica Thompson is tied for second in the WAC with two assists...Caitlin Holmes is third in the WAC stats with a 0.42 goals against average and is second in save percentage (.920). 

Record Watch:
Several Nevada players on this season's roster already have their names in the Wolf Pack career record book and look to move their names up even higher.  Sophomore Miranda Montejo has 11 career goals and is two goals away from being number two all-time in career goals.  Senior Naomi Hernandez has nine career goals and is four away from claiming second and 10 away from first all time.  Seniors Kristin Anderson and Lauren Kinneman and sophomore Jessica Thompson, who each have seven career assists, are each two assists away from the number one spot.  Senior Terran Hadlock along with sophomores Montejo and Samantha Miller each have six career assists while senior Aivi Luik has five.   

Upcoming Schedule:
Nevada will play its next five matches on the road, starting with a trip to Oregon.  The Pack will face Oregon on Sept. 22 at 7 p.m. and Portland State on Sept. 24 at 1 p.m.  Nevada will play Northern Arizona and New Mexico in the New Mexico State Tournament on Sept. 29 and Oct. 1.  The Pack will open WAC play on Sept. 6, playing the defending WAC Tournament Champions Fresno State in Fresno, Calif. on Oct. 6 at 7 p.m.
