Reno, Nev. - Two junior college guards, Mikail Price from Foothill (Calif.) College and Brandi Harris of Barton County College (Kan.), will join the Wolf Pack this fall, Nevada Head Women's Basketball Coach Kim Gervasoni announced today during the spring signing period. Both student-athletes have signed National Letters-of-Intent with the University of Nevada.

"Both these players have been in big games and flourish in pressure situations. Mikail and Brandi both have high goals both in the classroom and on the court. They exemplify what it means to be a member of our program," Gervasoni said.

Price, 5'7" from Fremont, Calif., was the MVP in the Coast Conference (North) this past season and named a first-team all-state selection. The NorCal runner-up for Player-of-the-Year, she made three all-tournament teams and was named the MVP at the Shasta Invitational. She averaged 16.2 points, 5.4 assists, 2.3 steals and 4.7 rebounds in hitting 45 percent from the field in 2006 in helping them go 24-11 and earn a No. 14 ranking among California junior colleges. Price also connected on 42 percent from three-point range and hit 83 percent from the free throw line. Foothill has won the league title the past five years, including 2005's 23-8 mark and a Sweet 16 appearance among California junior colleges.

"Mikail will add depth to both our point guard and off guard positions. She is very athletic, can create off the dribble, and can knock down the open shot. She is the perfect fit both on and off the court with our players. The addition of Mikail will bring us one step closer to competing for a WAC Championship," Gervasoni said.

Harris, a 5'7" Phoenix native, was a two-year starter at Barton CC in Great Bend, Kan., and led the team in steals both years. She was a two-time team defensive player of the year and the third-leading scorer both years. She shot 35 percent from three-point range to pace the team and shot 46 percent from the field in 2006. Harris averaged nine points, four assists and three steals per game as a sophomore at Barton and was a high school teammate of starting forward Cherlanda Franklin at Phoenix's Thunderbird High School. Barton went 22-12 and was the Region VI runner-up in 2005 and improved to 28-6 in finishing second in Region VI again in 2006 and finished as the 17th-ranked junior college team in the country.

"Brandi is an excellent athlete and will add much needed depth to our backcourt. She is extremely versatile and will be able to contribute at multiple positions, especially on the defensive end. Brandi is the total package -- she is a great person, excellent student, and a tremendous basketball player," Gervasoni said.

The two join fall signees Marianne Lombardi, a 6'0 post from Yakima, Wash. (Eisenhower H.S.), and Marissa Hammond, a 6'3 post from Pendleton, Ore. (Pendleton H.S.), both incoming freshmen who inked in the early signing period. Lombardi and Hammond also play on the same club team, Sagebrush Hoops Northwest.
