RENO, Nev. - Nevada lost for the first time in five games with a 72-57 decision to Louisiana Tech here Thursday night.

Nevada (7-13, 3-5 WAC) was paced by Jessica Preslar with 13 points and Brandi Fitzgerald with 10 markers and a team-leading seven rebounds. Cherlanda Franklin added nine points and six rebounds.

Aarica Ray-Boyd had 18 points and Ty Moore grabbed 13 rebounds and three other players scored in double-figures for the Lady Techsters, now 15-4, 7-1 in WAC games.

Tech led by nine, 35-26 at halftime. They had a 14-minute edge at the 12-minute mark and took an 18-polint lead with 6:30 remaining.

The Lady Techsters held a 43-36 edge on the boards but committed 22 turnovers to 16 for Nevada. The Pack was plagued by poor shooting (17-58) in connecting on just 29 percent from the field and making only one of seven three-point attempts. Louisiana Tech hit 44 percent (23 of 52) from the field and converted four of nine three-point attempts.

Nevada hosts WAC rival New Mexico State at 2:05 p.m. Saturday at Lawlor Events Center. A free all-sports clinic precedes the game at 10:30 a.m. and a free lunch will be served following the clinic, open to area youths in eighth grade or younger.
