Reno, Nev. The University of Nevada has accepted an invitation to play in the MPC Computers Bowl against the University of Miami at Bronco Stadium in Boise, Idaho on Dec. 31. The game will kickoff at 4:30 p.m. (Pacific) and will be broadcast to a national audience on ESPN.

This is Nevada’s second straight bowl appearance, having beaten Central Florida in the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl last year. The Wolf Pack is 8-4 overall and finished 5-3 in the Western Athletic Conference. Tickets for the MPC Computers Bowl are available at the Nevada ticket office or by calling (775) 348-PACK.

“This is exciting news,” Nevada coach Chris Ault said. “This is a great opportunity to meet a school with a lot of football tradition. We are looking forward to the game.”

This will be the first-ever meeting between the Wolf Pack and the Hurricanes.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for our university to showcase itself to a national audience. We look forward to our football team representing our university on this stage,” said school president Dr. Milton Glick.

This is Nevada’s fifth trip to a bowl game as a Division I-A member and the school is 2-2 in those games. Ault, who is the fifth among active coaches in career victories, is 1-1 in bowl games.

“I want to congratulate Coach Ault, his staff and the players for another successful year,” said Nevada athletics director Cary Groth. “The accomplishment of playing in a bowl game for the second straight year is an important sign of the development of our football program. I believe that the success of our football team also reflects the overall growth and progress of our athletic department.”
