Nevada Game Notes

Quarterback Jeff Rowe was a perfect 5-of-5 for 59 yards on Nevada’s opening scoring drive. Four of the passes, including the TD pass, went to sophomore Jack Darlington. The other was a 14-yard completion to sophomore Mike McCoy.

Darlington set career highs in catches, yards and tied a career-high with his touchdown catch. Darlington’s first-quarter touchdown reception was the second of his career and his first since Sept. 24, 2005 (at Colorado State).

Nevada opened defensively with four down lineman with senior Charles Wilson getting the start instead of junior Jeremy Engstrom.

Offensively, junior Fred White started at the strongside guard spot and sophomore Jack Darlington started at the “F” receiver spot.

Robert Hubbard’s second-quarter fumble was Nevada’s first turnover in nearly eight quarters as the last turnover was a second-quarter interception against Northwestern on Sept. 22. Nevada was without a turnover in its Sept. 30 victory over UNLV.

Joe Garcia blocked a kick in third quarter, marking the fourth time in five games that Nevada has blocked a kick.

Senior Caleb Spencer set season highs in both catches and yardage.

Senior Anthony Pudewell’s fourth-quarter touchdown was his first of the season.

Jonathon Amaya registered his first career sack in the fourth quarter.
