Final Stats
BOISE, Idaho - Nevada dropped a WAC game here Saturday afternoon to Boise State, 58-50.
Nevada (3-12, 0-4 WAC) led early, 5-2, and were able to keep it close with four ties in the first half, including the last one at 19, but Boise State extended its lead to nine, 33-24, just before the intermission and cruised to the win.
Boise State had a distinct advantage in rebounds, 49-38 and got to the free throw line considerably more, hitting 17 of 27 to just four of 10 for Nevada. Turnovers were also a problem for the Pack as they committed 24, though Boise State had 23.
Leading Nevada were Traci Graham with a season-best and game-leading 19 points, including 11 in the first half and Dellena Criner added 10 points.
Jessica Thompson led three Boise State (10-6, 2-2 WAC) players in double-figures with 17 points and Jackie Lee had 14 points and a game-leading 13 rebounds while Michelle Hessing added 12 markers in front of 843 fans at Taco Bell Arena.
Sophomore forward Meghan McGuire missed her second straight game due to a sprained ankle suffered earlier in the week. She is expected back to game action for this week's games.
Nevada returns to action Thursday night to complete the non-conference slate with Utah Valley State at Lawlor Events Center for a 7 p.m. contest. They resume WAC play Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. against Utah State, also at Lawlor Events Center.
