Final Stats

RENO, Nev. - Jessica Preslar had a career-high 20 points to lead all scorers and added eight rebounds in leading Nevada to a 59-53 non-conference win over USF here Saturday afternoon.

In a game that went back and forth throughout both halves, Nevada held a five-point edge, 29-24, at the intermission.

With 8:31 remaining, it was tied at 42, but Nevada (3-8) would make a 10-4 run over the next three minutes and maintained at least a four point edge from that point on.

Nevada a season-low 11 turnovers while USF (4-9) had 17. Nevada shot 34 percent from the field, 36 percent from three-point range, and 69 percent at the free throw line. The Dons, who did not make a three-pointer, did take the rebound edge, 48 to 44.

Brandi Fitzgerald came off the bench to add eight rebounds a team-best nine rebounds. Meghan McGuire and Dellena Criner each had eight points for the Pack. Nickie Warren had 10 points and 10 rebounds and Nykia Peace chipped in with 11 points for the Dons.

Nevada hosts Hawai`i Thursday in the WAC opener at 7 p.m. and then entertains WAC rival San Jose State Saturday at 2 p.m. All Nevada home games are played Lawlor Events Center.
