Final Stats

Nevada couldn't stop Nicky Eason, who led all scorers with 18 points, as the Lumberjacks improved to 8-4 with a 66-58 non-conference victory.

The game remained a see-saw battle in the second half. Nevada did knot the game at 51 during the 7:26 mark but NAU built a 62-55 edge with 2:54 remaining and nev er looked back.

It was a see-saw battle in the first half with neither team able to take control. Nevada did take a five-point lead 19-14 at the 8:45 mark, the largest for either team. But the Lumberjacks battled back and took a one-point edge at the intermission, 34-33. There were five ties and nine lead changes in the first stanza.

Freshman Bre'Anna Henry made her first start and responded well scoring nine points. Sabrina Keys had 11 to lead Nevada (2-8).

The Pack was without the services of its leading scorer and best all-around player, freshman guard Brandi Fitzgerald, who was suspended for the game due to missing her Christmas flight back to Reno. She did make the trip but was in street clothes on the bench.

Nevada returns to Reno Thursday afternoon and will host USF at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31 at Lawlor Events Center.
