DENVER - Nevada linebacker Jason DeMars, San Jose State tailback Yonus Davis, and Utah State kick returner Tony Pennyman were named the Xbox Live Western Athletic Conference defensive, offensive, and special teams players of the week, respectively.

DeMars, a junior from Sacramento, Calif. (Sacramento CC), had a career-high 13 tackles, including two for a loss, in Nevada's 30-24 win at Utah State. Six of his tackles were unassisted. The 13 tackles is the most by a Wolf Pack player this season.

He is the fourth Nevada player to be honored and the fifth time a Pack player has won the weekly award (B.J. Mitchell has won two offensive awards, Craig Bailey picked up one defensive accolade and Justin Bergendahl earned one special teams honor).

Davis, a sophomore from Oakland, Calif. (Skyline HS), rushed for a career-high 150 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries in San Jose State's 27-10 win over New Mexico State. His second touchdown run went for 84 yards at the beginning of the second half to give the Spartans a 17-3 lead. Davis currently leads the WAC in average yards per carry (6.7), the sixth best average in the nation.

Pennyman, a junior from Hayward, Calif. (Hayward HS), returned three kickoffs for 207 yards (a school-record 69.0 yard average), including one for 99 yards and a touchdown. The Aggies trailed 20-3 prior to Pennyman's touchdown return. After Nevada scored a field goal on the ensuing possession, Pennyman returned another kickoff 84 yards that set up a Utah State touchdown to make the score 23-17. Pennyman also caught nine passes for 99 yards and a touchdown in the game.
