RENO, Nev. - B.J. Mitchell ran for 149 yards and four touchdowns, leading Nevada to a 62-14 victory over Idaho on Saturday.
Jeff Rowe passed for 251 yards and three touchdowns for the Wolf Pack (3-2, 2-0 WAC). Mitchell scored on runs of 4 and 7 yards in the first quarter and added TD runs of 56 and 7 yards in the third quarter.
Rowe threw two scoring passes in the second quarter - a 20-yarder to Caleb Spencer and a 2-yard shovel pass to Adam Bishop- as Nevada built a 28-0 lead.
Idaho scored on a 7-yard pass from Steven Wichman to Daniel Smith with 1:18 left in the first half, cutting Nevada's lead to 28-6. Wichman completed 25 of 49 passes for 275 yards and two touchdowns for the Vandals (1-5, 1-2 WAC).
After Mitchell's two touchdown runs in the third quarter, Rowe tossed a 13-yard scoring pass to Spencer early in the fourth quarter to give Nevada a 48-6 lead.
Nevada's defense added a pair of scores. Nick Hawthrone returned a fumble 90 yards for a touchdown, and DeAngelo Wilson returned an interception 47 yards for another TD, giving the Wolf Pack a 62-6 lead with 2:22 left.
Idaho scored its final touchdown with 1:23 left on a 31-yard pass from Wichman to Wes Williams. Williams and Wendell Octave teamed up for a 2-point conversion.
