A local product and University of Nevada graduate, Alec Drudi enters his fifth season on Nevada’s coaching staff and his second as a defensive analyst.
Drudi spent the past two season in a graduate assistant role on defense with the Wolf Pack. He served as Nevada’s special teams quality control coach during the 2015 season, which culminated with a victory in the Arizona Bowl. Drudi helped the Wolf Pack’s special teams units and prepared the units for practice and games. The Wolf Pack boasted some of the best return units in the Mountain West in 2015, ranking second in punt return average and fourth in kick return average along with a touchdown in the Arizona Bowl - Nevada’s first kickoff return since 1998. Drudi was also part of former PK Brent Zuzo earning All-MW accolades making 17-of-19 field goals.
Prior to Nevada, Drudi coached in the high school ranks locally in Reno. Drudi had worked as an assistant head coach and defensive coordinator for North Valleys’ varsity team in 2014. He also served as a defensive coordinator for multiple seasons at his alma mater, McQueen High School, from 2009 through 2013.
Drudi played his football at McQueen, under the tutelage of Ken Dalton, six-time state champion coach, playing as a defensive back, wide receiver and quarterback during his high school career. Drudi then graduated from the University of Nevada in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
