Nevada women's basketball sophomore Essence Booker was instrumental in helping to lead the Wolf Pack to a pair of road wins last week, which included an upset at San José State, the Mountain West’s second place team. The Las Vegas native led Nevada in scoring in both games and averaged 15.5 points per game for the week. In Wednesday’s victory at Air Force, Booker totaled 17 points and followed that up with a 14-point, five-assist performance in the win at SJSU. It marked the Pack’s first set of back-to-back road wins since December of 2017.

For the week, Booker combined to shoot 46.2 percent from the field, which included 44.4 percent from beyond the arc, and was perfect from the free throw line. She added five rebounds, six assists and three steals. Booker’s 3-point shooting was lights out against the Falcons as she knocked down 3-of-5 from the 3-point line. Her offense against the Spartans was even better, hitting 50 percent of her shots from the floor.

With just five games remaining in the regular season, Booker is in the midst of an impressive sophomore season. After averaging 5.6 points per game as a rookie, she currently leads the team, and is 15th in the conference, at 12.3 points per game this season. Booker has scored in double figures in a team-leading 15 games this year and has done so in seven consecutive games. Her 3-point shooting has improved leaps and bounds in her sophomore campaign as she leads the Wolf Pack and ranks seventh in the MW with 42 made triples.
