RENO, Nev. - Outside hitter from the Nevada volleyball team Kayla Afoa has been selected Wolf Pack Student-Athlete of the Week after her performance at the Cal tournament.Â
Afoa recorded 49 kills on the weekend against Tennessee State, Utah Tech, and the host Cal. The Honolulu, Hawaii native has been one of the most consistent players for the Pack, as she has registered back-to-back double-digits numbers in kills since week one of the season.Â
The outside hitter was also selected in the All-tournament team for the third week in a row. The sixth year student-athlete also put up some numbers in service ace (six), digs (37), and block assists (five).
Afoa also registered a milestone during the weekend, as she reached the 1097 kill as a member of the Pack.Â

Nevada volleyball continues on the road as they go to Norman, Okla. for the Oklahoma Tournament Sept. 16-17. The Pack will face the host team on Friday, at 7 p.m. and Texas Southern Saturday, at 11 a.m.
