Angel Meriwether, a senior on the women’s soccer team, has been named the University of
Nevada Student-Athlete of the Month for September.
Meriwether, a native of San Diego, Calif., is currently pursuing her second bachelor’s degree in
nutrition and plans to finish her academic career at Nevada this spring. Meriwether graduated in
the spring of 2018 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in community health science with a
specialization in public health. Meriwether excels in the classroom, recording a 3.306 cumulative
GPA and has posted a 3.9 and 3.94 semester GPA in the past fall and spring terms, respectively.
Outside of school and athletics, Meriwether works as a volunteer at R.A.V.E. for children with
disabilities. She is currently a representative for the soccer team on the NCAA's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. She has ambitions in the spring of being a learning assistant for the microbiology department on campus while also devoting her time to volunteering at local hospitals. Angel’s career goal is to eventually become a nurse.
