Freshman Melinda Ferenczi, making her debut Saturday at the Ed Jacoby Invitational and Multis in Boise, Idaho, has been named the Bradley, Drendel & Jeanney Student-Athlete of the Week.
 
The Hungary native etched her name into the history books after placing first and second in the 200 meter dash and 60 meter dash, respectively. Her time of 7.67 in the 60m version put her ninth in program history, while her finish of 24.46 seconds in the 200m dash debuted her all the way at fifth on the all-time list.
 
Ferenczi’s 200m dash time is currently tops in the entire Mountain West conference and is ranked No. 63 in the country.
