After locking in the second individual win of his collegiate career over the weekend, Nevada men’s golf senior Sam Harned has been named the Wolf Pack Student-Athlete of the Week.
Â
Harned earned co-medalist honors at The Goodwin on Saturday, finishing on top in a crowded 146-player field. The Rocklin, Calif. native finished the event at 10-under par to tie with Blake Hathcoat of Saint Mary’s for the co-medalist honors. All three of Harned’s rounds were at par or better, including a career-low 63 in round one. Harned went 63-70-67 through his three rounds and led the entire field with 16 birdies during his 54 holes of play. On the final hole of the tournament, Harned birdied No. 18 to slide into the lead.

Harned’s strong play helped lead the Wolf Pack to a sixth place finish in the field of 28 teams and finished two shots above No. 19 SMU. Nevada posted its best team score of the tournament on Saturday, carding a 3-under 277. The Pack finished the event at 8-over par as there were only two teams in the entire field to finish under par.
