Nevada men's golf senior Sam Meek has been named the Wolf Pack Student-Athlete of the Month.

Meek posted a 3.0 cumulative GPA and is planning to graduate with a general business degree this spring. Meek is hoping to play amateur golf and then turn professional soon after. Following his professional career, Meek wants to share his passion of golf with young players by teaching the youth back home in Canada.

On the course this season Meek has compiled a scoring average of 72.71, which ranks third on the team. He is second on the Pack with 74 birdies in the team's seven events and has two top 15 finishes, including a season-best eighth place showing at the Mountain West Championship. Meek and the rest of the Wolf Pack qualified for NCAA Regionals for the third consecutive season and will compete in those regionals next week.
