Kyle Guy

Kyle Guy

In April 2025, Kyle Guy joined the Nevada Men’s Basketball staff, bringing with him an  elite pedigree as an NCAA champion, NBA and international pro, and respected player development mentor. Known for his clutch shooting, high basketball IQ, and strong leadership, Guy rose to national prominence during his collegiate career at the University of Virginia. From 2016 to 2019, he was a cornerstone of Tony Bennett’s Cavaliers, leading them to a historic NCAA Championship in 2019. That unforgettable run included a string of dramatic performances, most notably in the Final Four, where Guy delivered three game-winning free throws with 0.6 seconds left to lift UVA over Auburn in the national semifinal. He followed that clutch moment with 24 points in the national championship game against Texas Tech, helping secure the program’s first-ever NCAA title. Guy was named the NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player, a testament to his ability to perform under pressure. He also earned back-to-back First-Team All-ACC honors and was a consensus Third-Team All-American in 2018 and 2019, finishing his career as UVA’s all-time leader in three-point percentage.

Following his decorated college career, Kyle was selected 55th overall in the 2019 NBA Draft by the New York Knicks and played for the Sacramento Kings and Miami Heat. He later expanded his career internationally, playing in Spain and Greece with stints at Club Joventut Badalona, Panathinaikos B.C., and Lenovo Tenerife. While playing for Tenerife, he led the FIBA Champions League in scoring, cementing his reputation as an elite shooter on the global stage.

In August 2024, Kyle returned to his alma mater as an Athlete Development Mentor and Special Assistant for the Virginia Men’s Basketball program. There, he worked hands-on with athletes through individualized training sessions, participated on the scout team during practices, and played a key role in scouting and video analysis. He also developed a data-driven player evaluation platform to assist with high school and transfer portal recruiting. Guy is also the founder of Dizzy Runs Pro-Am, a competitive summer league in Indianapolis featuring top high school prospects, college stars, and professional players. In addition, he serves as owner and general manager of Team Fail Harder (TBT 2024) and Embrace The Pace (TBT 2025), overseeing roster building, sponsorship development, and strategic planning.

Beyond the court, Kyle is a devoted family man. He is married to Alexa Guy, and they are proud parents to two sons, Chance and Jones. Kyle's journey—from national champion to NBA veteran to mentor—makes him a dynamic and influential addition to the Nevada Basketball family.
