Delanie Wisz, a 2022 All-American and two-time All-Pac-12 honoree, begins her second season on the Nevada Softball staff in 2026. Wisz joined the Wolf Pack ahead of the 2025 campaign following two championship seasons as an assistant coach at San Diego State. At Nevada, Wisz works with the Pack’s defense and assist coaching in the bullpen.
In 2025 Wisz was part of the first-year Wolf Pack staff under Victoria Hayward which went 18-4 in conference play and captured the program's first Mountain West regular season championship. Overall, Nevada went 41-14 and was one of the top offensive teams in the Mountain West, and ranked in the national top 50 in such statistical categories as stolen bases (15th), slugging percentage (27th), batting average (30th), doubles (40th), hits (41st), home runs (48th), and runs per game (49th). Working with the defense, Wisz's tutelage helped the Pack post a .968 fielding percentage, ranking fourth in the Mountain West and in the nation's top 25 percent.
Under Aztecs head coach Stacey Nuveman Deniz from 2023-24, Wisz helped lead San Diego State to a combined 70-37 overall record including a 31-13 Mountain West record, two Mountain West Championships, two NCAA Regional appearances, and a 2023 NCAA Super Regional appearance.
Wisz and Hayward spent one season together on the San Diego State coaching staff in 2023. With Hayward as the associate head coach of the Aztecs and Wisz a volunteer assistant coach, San Diego State won 39 games and finished a half-game back of the Mountain West regular season championship. The duo went 3-0 in the Mountain West Championship, clinching a spot at the NCAA Regional. San Diego State outscored opponents 19-3 at the Los Angeles Regional, sweeping the regional and advancing to the NCAA Super Regionals for the first time in school history.
For the 2024 season, Wisz was elevated to a full-time Assistant Coach. Wisz helped coach the Aztecs to a 15-7 Mountain West regular season championship and another sweep of the Mountain West Tournament, clinching San Diego State’s third straight NCAA Regional.
As a collegiate player, Wisz split five seasons at UCLA and Loyola Marymount. In three years with the Bruins, Wisz appeared in two Women’s College World Series, including being named to the 2022 Women’s College World Series All-Tournament Team.
She finished her redshirt senior year at UCLA batting .405 with 63 RBI after starting in all 61 games for the Bruins. Wisz’s 16 home runs and .767 slugging percentage in 2022 earned her second-team All-American honors from the NFCA, Softball America, and D1 Softball.
Wisz also earned NFCA West All-Region First Team honors twice in her career at UCLA, in 2021 and 2022.
In her two seasons at LMU, Wisz played in 119 games, batting .298 with 22 home runs and 21 doubles. She was named to the All-WCC Second Team as a sophomore and dubbed an All-WCC honorable mention in her freshman season.
