Contreras enters her third season with the Nevada staff, and the 2024-2025 season marks her sixth season on an NCAA Division I staff and ninth season coaching.
In her two years with the Wolf Pack, Nevada has qualified three swimmers for the NCAA Championships: Nagy (2023), Ferris (2024), and Kizek (2024). Since joining the program, Nevada has broken five school records and re-written 24 program top-10 times. Contreras primarily works with the sprint and IM groups but assists with all aspects of the program. In 2023, Head Coach Brendon Bray named her the recruiting coordinator following the 18-person recruiting class announced in August 2023.
Before joining Nevada, Contreras made two other Division I coaching stops. She served as a volunteer assistant at UC Davis (2021-2022) and worked at the University of the Pacific as an assistant coach (2018-2019) and director of operations (2017-2018).
Contreras has extensive club coaching experience, having served as a national group coach at DART Swimming (2019-2022), where she primarily worked with the sprint group and coached athletes to the national, junior national, futures, and sectional levels. She also worked with the senior group at Lodi Swim Club (2018-2019) and the age group program at Tiger Aquatics (2015-2018).
Heavily involved with USA Swimming, Contreras has extensive experience working on national team development opportunities, currently serves on the USA Swimming Sports Medicine Committee, and is a contractor for USA Swimming to assist with coach education.
