HIGH SCHOOL – Holds a personal shot put best of 39 feet and 5.25 inches (12.02m) in the shot put … Won the 2014 Nevada State Championship for Division III … Took third in 2017 … Also threw the discus, where she holds a personal record of 127 feet and 1 inch (38.74m) … Placed fourth in both 2015 and 2017 in the state meet … Plans on throwing the hammer as well at Nevada.

PERSONAL – A local who attended Spanish Springs High School … Chose Nevada because it’s so close to home … Daughter of Mayleen and Victor Sam … Lists her older brother, Vic, as her role model … Has a total of eight siblings … Is majoring in Biology … Was also recruited by Portland State.
