Biography

SENIOR OUTDOOR (2018) – Placed fourth at the Mountain West Championships, finishing her career having never placed lower than fourth at the conference meet … Qualified for the NCAA West Preliminary Round for a fourth consecutive year … Had a season’s best throw at the NCAA prelims with a mark of 154 feet and 10 inches (47.19m), placing her 18th at the meet just six spots short of a trip to Eugene … Competed in six meets during the season.

JUNIOR OUTDOOR (2017) - Set a personal record with a throw of 156 feet and 11 inches (47.83m) at the 2017 Mountain West Championships .. The mark earned her a silver medal and moved her to seventh on the Nevada all-time list … Placed 26th at the NCAA West Preliminaries with a mark of 148 feet and 1 inch (45.15m) … Competed in four meets during the season … Recorded two second place finishes and a total of three top five finishes.

SOPHOMORE OUTDOOR (2016) - Moved to eighth on the Nevada all-time list with a throw of 47.37m (155' 5") at the Mountain West Championships … Placed fourth at the conference championships … Debuted on the Nevada all-time list at the UCLA Legends meet with a distance of 46.40m (152' 2") … Placed first at the UCLA Legends meet … Took third in a crowded field at the Hornet Invitational … Competed in seven meets during the season … Named to the All-Mountain West academic team.

FRESHMAN OUTDOOR (2015) - Earned a bronze medal and six team points at the Mountain West Outdoor Championships (5/16) in the javelin event with a throw of 44.07m (144'7"), leading to an All-Mountain West Outdoor honor … Placed second in the javelin with a collegiate personal best mark of 44.36m (145'6") at the Bryan Clay Invitational (4/17), which earned her a spot to compete in the NCAA preliminary round … Won the javelin event at the Bulldog Invitational (4/25) with a throw of 44.32m (145'5") … Placed in the top-five in all of her javelin events throughout the outdoor season … Champion in the javelin at the Spain Junior Championships, posting a new PR mark of 46.58m (152'10").

HIGH SCHOOL - Qualified for the 2013 U18 World Championships … Holds the Catalonion Region U18 record with a throw of 163 feet and 2.75 inches (500g javelin) … Was named the 2013 and 2015 national champion in her age group.

PERSONAL - Daughter of Dina Isabel Lossio Garcia and Jorge Coquis Coz … Has two older sisters, Francesca and Fiorella … Plans on majoring in journalism … Lists Jan Zelezny and Mireia Belmonte as her sports role models … Mom competed on the Peruvian national volleyball team … Chose Nevada because of the journalism program and the potential to compete at high level meets, as well as the school's vicinity to Lake Tahoe and the mountains.
