SENIOR INDOOR/OUTDOOR (2018-19) – Did not compete (redshirt)
JUNIOR OUTDOOR (2018) – Threw for a new career best at the Bulldog Invitational with a mark of 49 feet and 9.25 inches (15.17m), No. 3 in program history … Placed eighth at the Mountain West Championships with a toss of 48 feet and 3.5 inches (14.72m) … Won the shot put competition at the Rainbow Relays … Placed second at the Mountain West Challenge … Competed in five meets during the year.
JUNIOR INDOOR (2017-18) – Threw her season’s best shot put mark at the Ed Jacoby Invite with a distance of 48 feet and 0.5 inches (14.64m) … Placed third at the meet … Placed seventh at the Mountain West Championships with a throw of 47 feet and 8.5 inches (14.54m) … Compete in four meets during the year.
SOPHOMORE OUTDOOR (2017) – Ended the season at No. 4 on the Nevada all-time list after a personal record throw of 48 feet and 3.5 inches (14.72m) at the Hornet Invite … Competed in a total of six meets during the season, including the Mountain West Championships … Recorded a total of four top five finishes, including a victory at the Aggie Open.
SOPHOMORE INDOOR (2016-17) – Placed sixth in the shot put at the Mountain West Championships with a throw of 46’ 6.25” (14.18m) … Threw a season best of 48’ 7.5” (14.82m) at the Boise State Challenge on Feb. 11 which also landed her fourth in school history … Placed first at that meet … Logged five top five finishes … Competed in five meets.
FRESHMAN OUTDOOR (2016) – Continued her phenomenal freshman indoor season out to the sunny skies … qualified for Junior Championships with her mark of 14.49m (47’6.5”) at the Beach Invitational … Claimed victory at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational with a mark of 14.28m (46’10.25”) … Logged an eighth place finish at the Mountain West Championships … Ended the season at sixth on the Nevada all-time list … Competed in six outdoor meets in her rookie season.
FRESHMAN INDOOR (2015-16) – Immediately made her mark at Nevada, placing first in the shot put at the Weber State Winter Open and jumping onto the all-time list at fourth … Currently sits at fifth on the list … Was ranked in the top five in the conference all season … Was ranked as the No. 1 freshman in the conference all season … Placed seventh in the shot put at the highly competitive UW Invitational … Placed second in the shot put at the Boise State Challenge … Took home fifth at the Mountain West Indoor Championships.
HIGH SCHOOL – Holds the Vacaville High School record in her top event, the shot put … Placed fifth at the California state meet with a throw of 45’5” and has a personal best of 47’4.5” which is the eighth-best throw in the country for graduating seniors … In addition to the shot put, French will also compete in the discus, which she has a personal best mark of 114’.
PERSONAL – Daughter of Frank and Dawn French … Has three siblings, sisters Brianna and Brittany and brother Nick … Her sister Brianna was a member of the track & field team for BYU and is eighth all-time in the discus … Intends to major in nursing … Lists her older sisters as her role models for teaching her hard work and dedication … Also recruited by Concordia and Oregon … Chose Nevada so she could be close to her family and because of the amazing nursing program and track & field program.
