Biography
SOPHOMORE (2017) – Will look to be a key part of the team after competing in all but one meet in her freshman year.
FRESHMAN (2016) – Competed in every meet of the season beside the regional championships … Finished the year 17th in the 6K amongst all-time freshman at Nevada with a best of 22:41 … Took third at the Nevada Twilight Classic … Was named to the All-Mountain West academic team.
HIGH SCHOOL – Holds a personal best of 4:57.93 in the 1600 meter set at the 2016 Sacramento Meet of Champions … 1600m time would make the Nevada indoor all-time list for the mile (approximate) … Personal record of 17:53.00 in the three mile for cross country, putting her in a good position to make waves on the freshman 5000m list … Has a personal record time of 2:21.81 in the 800 meter … Earned three All-Empire and one All-Section honors … Placed eighth in the 1600m at the CIF North Coast Championships.
PERSONAL – Daughter of Kristin and Jim Barich … Has two siblings, Drake and Brenna … Plans to major in journalism … Lists Taylor Swift as a role model … Dad ran a sub three hour marathon at the age of 17 … Chose Nevada because of the beautiful campus and the high end Reynold’s School of Journalism … Was also recruited by Chico State and Saint Mary’s.
