Biography

Megan Sweet continues her coaching career in 2017-18 as she enters her second year as volunteer assistant coach with the Wolf Pack softball program.

In just her first season on the coaching staff in 2016-17, Sweet helped guide Nevada to its first postseason berth since the 2009 season. Working primarily with the outfielders, Sweet used her knowledge she has from her playing days to lead the outfielders to a fielding percentage of .956.

Prior to joining the Wolf Pack coaching staff, Sweet completed one of the greatest playing careers in Nevada softball history. She is arguably the most successful Wolf Pack player in program history and is one of six players to be named all-conference three times. Her .374 career batting average, 37 home runs, 167 RBIs, 156 runs scored, 428 total bases and .648 slugging percentage are all program records.

On top of her career numbers, she also has scattered her name throughout single-season records as well. As a sophomore, she set the Nevada single-season doubles record, hitting 21 two-baggers. In her senior year, she posted a .406 batting average, which is one of just four batting averages to finish a season above the .400 mark.

A native of Bakersfield, Calif., Sweet graduated from the University of Nevada in May 2016 with a degree in general studies.
