    Roman Martinez will be the lead graduate assistant for the Wolf Pack basketball team this season.  He played three seasons for Pack head coach Steve Alford at the University of New Mexico and was part of two MW regular season championships.  
    Following his time playing for the Lobos he played professionally for seven seasons overseas.  He will be part of coach Alford’s first staff at Nevada and looks forward to the opportunity to begin his coaching career with the Wolf Pack.
    One of his honors included Roman Martinez day in the state of New Mexico by Governor Bill Richardson on March 3, 2010.  It was his Senior Day in the Pit in Albuquerque, N.M. as he was the lone UNM senior on the squad.  The Lobos were 74-30 in his three seasons.
    Martinez is only the third player in Lobo history to reach 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 150 3-pointers in a career. He ended his career with 1,161 points, 633 rebounds and 205 made 3-pointers.
