University of Nevada Athletics

    Aubrie Warkentien, a Las Vegas native spent the past three years at Tulane as the program coordinator for the men’s basketball team. At Nevada she will handle all aspects of the team’s travel, budget, alumni management, summer camps as well as the overall day-to-day organization of Wolf Pack men’s basketball.  
    Prior to Tulane she was the media and public relations coordinator for the Utah Jazz G-League affiliate the Salt Lake City Stars for one year.  She also interned with the NBA Summer League and the San Antonio Spurs G-League affiliate the Austin Spurs. 
    Warkentien earned her bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Arizona in 2012.  
    Her father Mark was a member of Jerry Tarkanian’s staff at UNLV when Nevada head coach Steve Alford was a member of the Indiana basketball team that faced the Rebels in the NCAA semifinals.  Currently he is the special assignment evaluator for the Oklahoma City Thunder.  While general manager for the Denver Nuggets he helped the team reach the Western Conference finals and was named the 2009 NBA Executive of the Year.
