NEVADA
SENIOR (2018) – Ended his career having thrown a touchdown in 27 consecutive games, the second-longest streak in the nation … Awarded the Golden Helmet Award along with teammate Malik Reed, given to the Most Valuable Player on the Wolf Pack football team … Started in all 12 games that he played in … Following the end of the regular season, his 56-career touchdown passes ranked 19th in the FBS, 231.5-career passing yards per game ranked 18th and 7.01-career offensive yards per play were 14th … His 66 career total touchdowns responsible for ranked 23rd among active quarterbacks and his 7,724 yards of total offense ranked 22nd following the regular season … Tied for eighth all-time in Nevada history with Cody Fajardo with 57 touchdown passes … Threw for a career-high 3,331 yards on 443 attempts with a 60.5 completion percentage … Tossed 24 touchdowns to only 13 interceptions … Threw for a career-high four touchdowns twice this season, in wins at Air Force and against Colorado State … Against the Rams, totaled 404 passing yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions while completing 80 percent of his passes for one of his best collegiate games … Ranked in the top five in the Mountain West in total offense, generating 289.8 yards per game … In conference play, ranked second with 294 passing yards per game and 303.4 yards of total offense per game … Ranked third in conference play with three 300-yard passing performances … Threw for over 300 yards five times during the regular season … Rushed for 146 yards with three scores, tallying a career-long run of 29 yards this season at Air Force … Threw the game-winning TD pass in overtime to Reagan Roberson in the 2018 Arizona Bowl victory and was named the bowl game MVP … Named to preseason watch lists for the Maxwell Award, Manning Award, Wuerffel Trophy and the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award … Allstate AFCA Good Works Team nominee ... JUNIOR (2017) – Led the Mountain West in conference games in passing offense … Earned All-Mountain West honorable mention honors … Earned honorable mention honors from Phil Steele magazine … Was named the Wolf Pack’s MVP, earning the Golden Helmet award … In his 10 games, completed 228 of his 374 passes for a 60.9 percent completion percentage … Racked up a total of 2,746 yards and completed 25 passes for a touchdown … Set a career long with an 82 yard completion at San Diego State … Also scored four touchdowns with his feet, logging a total of 180 yards on the ground … Had the top two passing yardage games in the Mountain West (at Colorado State, at San Diego State) … Set a career high in completions with 31 at Fresno State … His two 400+ yard games were the first since Colin Kaepernick in 2007 … Became the first quarterback to complete at least 30 passes since Cody Fajardo in 2014 … Set a career high with four touchdown passes twice in 2017 … Earned All-Mountain West academic honors.
 
SOPHOMORE (2016) – Played in 10 of 12 games during his first season with Nevada and took over the starting role for the final four games after Tyler Stewart suffered a season-ending injury … For the season he was 99-of-172 passing for 1,301 yards and threw eight touchdowns to six interceptions … A mobile quarterback who also ran the ball 49 times for 217 yards and three touchdowns, an average of 4.4 yards per rush … Saw his first action in a Wolf Pack uniform at Notre Dame (9/10) where he connected on a season-long pass with Andrew Celis that went for 68 yards … In his first piece of extended action in the Wyoming game (10/22), he threw for 300 yards and a touchdown, the first Nevada quarterback since Cody Fajardo in 2014 to throw for over 300 yards in a single game … He also recorded the first rushing touchdown of his career in the Wyoming game … He followed that up in his first career start at New Mexico (11/5) with 301 passing yards and a season-high three touchdown passes, making him the first Nevada quarterback to throw for 300 yards in back-to-back games since Cody Fajardo did so against Air Force and San Diego State in 2013 … Rushed for a season-high 12 times in the win against Utah State (11/19) and ran in for the game-tying touchdown with five seconds on the clock helping Nevada to the one-point win … Nearly notched a 100-yard rushing game in the season finale win at UNLV (11/26) when he racked up 99 yards on the ground on just nine attempts … His passing efficiently finished at 129.47 for the year, seventh-best in the conference … Threw at least one touchdown pass in five games … Letter winner.
 
PRIOR TO NEVADA - Attended Ventura College and earned one football letter under head coach Steve Mooshagian … In his first career game at Ventura, passed for a school-record 452 yards with five touchdowns … On the season, completed 194-of-300 passes for 2,288 yards and 21 touchdowns to just six interceptions … Was named to the All-Northern Conference first team … Helped lead the Pirates to an 8-3 record and a share of the conference title … Also ran for 279 yards and five touchdowns … Originally attended Colorado and redshirted in 2014 before transferring to Ventura College.
 
HIGH SCHOOL - Graduated from St. Francis High School (La Cañada, Calif.) in 2014 … Was a two-year letter winner on the football team under head coach Jim Bonds … Named the San Gabriel Valley Player of the Year by the Pasadena Star News in 2013 … Also earned first team All-CIF Southern Section and All-Mission League honors in 2013 … As a senior, accounted for 3,311 yards and 38 touchdowns while leading St. Francis to one of its best seasons in school history … Completed 189-of-342 passes for 2,882 yards and 25 touchdowns with only six interceptions, while rushing 117 times for 421 yards and 12 touchdowns … Threw for 300 or more yards on three occasions and 200 or more on eight occasions with seven multiple-TD pass games … Also was a member of the National Honor Society, was named a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete and was a four-time member of the Mission League All-Academic team.
 
PERSONAL - Born Tyler Frank Gangi … Son of Frank and Kathy Gangi … Has two sisters and one brother … Majoring in management … Grandfather played UCLA and earned All-America honors in 1955 while his uncle Kevin Brown played football at Cal … Chose to attend Nevada because of the great coaches and players, as well as the support from the community.
