Former Nevada quarterback and two-time Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year Carson Strong joined the Wolf Pack staff in August 2023. Strong will assist the program in a variety of capacities, in his role.
Strong spent four seasons (2018-21) with the Wolf Pack, the final three as the team’s starting quarterback. The Vacaville, Calif., native went on to finish his career third all-time at Nevada in passing yards (9,368) and touchdown passes (74), and set the program single-season record for touchdown passes with 36 in 2021. He took home consecutive Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year awards (2020-21), becoming just the fifth individual in conference history to do so. The Wolf Pack qualified for a bowl in each of his three seasons as the starting signal-caller, including a victory over Tulane in the 2020 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.
After earning his degree from Nevada, Strong signed a free-agent deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, and spent the 2022 training camp with the club. Strong went on to sign with the USFL’s Michigan Panthers, with whom he appeared in four games in 2023, completing 31-of-49 passes for 266 yards and a touchdown.
