Biography

NEVADA
SENIOR (2021) – In a season shortened by injury, appeared in three games and recorded 13 receptions for 157 yards with four touchdowns... Averaged 52.33 yards per game with a long of 79 yards... Caught seven passes for 89 yards and two touchdowns against Idaho State (Sep. 11)... In his final game of the season, caught four passes for 45 yards and one touchdown at Kansas State (Sep. 18)... Finished with 1,478 receiving yards during his career at Nevada, along with 18 receiving touchdowns and 115 receptions over 39-career games... Transferred to San Jose State at the end of the 2021 season. 

SENIOR (2020) – Named to the preseason watch list for the Biletnikoff Award ... Expected to be, not only one of the top receivers on the Wolf Pack, but also one of the top receivers in the Mountain West in 2020 … Led Nevada in nearly every receiving category as a junior, setting single season career highs in receptions, receiving yards and touchdown receptions … Named to the preseason All-MW second team by Phil Steele Magazine and All-MW third team by Athlon Sports.
 
JUNIOR (2019) – Had his best collegiate season in 2019, leading Nevada in receptions with 76, 926 receiving yards and eight touchdowns, all of which were single season career highs … Earned the team’s Outstanding Offensive Player award … Caught at least three passes in 12-of-13 games … Nevada went 4-1 during the regular season when he caught at least six passes … Had a record-setting performance in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl against Ohio, where he set career bests in receptions (14) and yards (197) … His 14 catches tied a Nevada bowl record, while his 197 yards set a new mark for the Wolf Pack and were third-most by a receiver in the Mountain West … Also posted a monster game against UNLV, hauling in 12 receptions for 151 yards … Caught multiple touchdowns on two separate occasions, against Purdue and at UTEP … His 12.2 receptions per game were tied for fourth in the conference and his 71.2 receiving yards per game ranked seventh.

SOPHOMORE (2018) – Had a breakout year his sophomore season, with seven total touchdowns and started six of the 13 games he appeared in … His six touchdown receptions ranked second on the team … Scored multiple times in two contests, with two receiving touchdowns at Air Force and a receiving and rushing touchdown at Hawai’i … Went on a tear in the middle of the season, scoring touchdowns in five of seven games … Set a career-high with 22 receptions and 348 yards, averaging 26.8 yards per game … His six touchdowns scored in conference play ranked tied for ninth in the Mountain West … His career-long reception of 40 yards came from his first of two touchdowns at Air Force … His career-high 63 receiving yards also came against the Falcons … Member of Nevada’s 2018 Arizona Bowl victory team.
 
FRESHMAN (2017) – Made his debut against Toledo … Saw action in nine games … Caught two balls for 23 yards … Set a career high with a 16 yard catch against San José State.
 
HIGH SCHOOL – Attended Atascadero High School where he was a two-sport athlete in football and basketball … As a senior, caught 56 balls for 966 yards … Also hauled in 15 touchdowns … Named first team all-league in 2015 and 2016, all-county in 2015 and 2016 and was the league’s offensive player of the year in 2016 … Holds records for most receptions in a game and most receptions in a single season … Played on MOC Magic AAU in basketball.
 
PERSONAL – Son of Stephanie and Adrian Cooks … Has two older sisters, Jazmine and Mariah … Majoring in sociology … His father, Adrian, played football at Fresno State and his sister, Mariah, played basketball at Washington State … Chose Nevada because of the amazing school and football program … Also recruited by Hawai’i, San Jose State, Wyoming and Fresno State … Lists Kobe Bryant as his sports hero … Enjoys hanging out with friends and playing video games during his free time.
