Zach Machen joins the Nevada football program in the first year of the Jay Norvell era. Machen will serve as the assistant director of player personnel and recruiting, working with director Ryne Rezac.

Machen most recently worked as a recruiting intern for the UCLA Bruins. In his position, Machen compiled stats on players, helped work out scholarship offers and put highlight videos together for the coaching staff to review. Machen also served as a recruiting intern for the Oklahoma Sooners. He has one season of coaching experience, working with the wide receivers and defensive backs at Redondo Union High School.

Machen, a native of Los Angeles, Calif., is an alum of the University of Oklahoma, where he earned his degree in online journalism. Machen, fitting for the role of recruiting, also worked with his own website called ScoutTeamFootball.com, providing insights on the sport’s players at every level.
