Former Wolf Pack defensive back Jaden Sawyer will begin his first year as one of the program’s defensive graduate assistants in 2018.
Sawyer was a member of the Nevada football team from 2013-17, seeing time in 47 games with 17 starts in the Pack’s defensive backfield. Sawyer’s best season came in 2016 when he totaled a career-high 49 tackles on the year with a team-high eight pass deflections and snagged two interceptions. For his career Sawyer made 100 total tackles, 7.0 of which were for a loss, had 11 pass deflections, three interceptions, forced a fumble and recovered another.
A native of San Jose, Calif., Sawyer earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Nevada in public health in 2017. He will be working towards his master’s degree in justice management.
