Ben Putman begins his first season on staff with the Wolf Pack football program as one of the program’s two offensive graduate assistants.
Putman is a name Pack fans should be familiar with as he spent the 2018 and 2019 seasons as a student-athlete with Nevada. In his two seasons he appeared in 19 games, hauling in 30 receptions for 411 yards. During his senior season he made 26 of those 30 receptions for nearly 300 yards. Putman played hero in the 2018 Arizona Bowl victory, leading the team with four catches for 114 yards and a long of 44 yards that set up Nevada for a go-ahead TD with 1:06 left in the fourth quarter.
Before Nevada, Putman spent two years at Santa Rosa JC where he earned an associate’s degree in sociology. He helped the Bear Cubs to wins in the North State Bowl in 2015 and Gridiron Classic Bowl in 2016. He earned All-Bay 6 League honors his last season at Santa Rosa JC. In his sophomore season he led the team with 63 receptions totaling 809 yards and added seven touchdowns.
Putman earned his bachelor’s degree from Nevada and is currently working towards a master’s degree.
