HIGH SCHOOL – Graduated from Patrick Henry High School in San Diego, Calif. where he played for head coach Mike Martinez … Two-sport athlete in football and track & field … Earned team captain honors and was a first team all-league selection … Won the CIF title in the triple jump during his junior year … Was a member of CRU/Young Life.
 
PERSONAL – Son of Keysha Hickbottom and Michael Brooks … Has one younger sister, Zoe … Majoring in Human Development and Family Studies … His cousin, Wallace Gilberry, is a defensive end for the Cincinnati Bengals in the NFL … Chose Nevada because he felt like, with the new coaching staff and recruiting class, the team can change the culture and shock the conference … Also recruited by Hawai’i, Oregon State, Idaho and Florida Atlantic … Lists Reggie Bush and Deion Sanders as his sports heroes … The most memorable moment of his career was at Riverside CC when they beat La Harbor, 77-7 … His grandmother was the one who introduced him to football and she is his motivation.
