REDSHIRT JUNIOR (2021) -- Went 0-1 on the year in his 14 appearances out of the bullpen … As a left handed specialist he totaled 3.1 innings on the mound and only surrendered four hits … Issued three walks and struck out one batter … Letter winner.

JUNIOR (2020 - Season shortened due to COVID-19) -- Made three appearances, posting a 3.52 era on the year in 7.2 innings of work … Made his Nevada debut against California Baptist (3/5) and tossed two innings, only allowing one hit and punching out three batters … Did not allow a run to score in his first 3.1 innings of work, striking out five batters and only allowing two hits … Made his first start in the Silver & Blue at Saint Mary’s (3/11), tossing 4.1 innings with three earned runs and one strikeout … Struck out six batters on the year and never surrendered a double.

PRIOR TO NEVADA -- Attended Sacramento City College from 2018-19, competing in the Big 8 Conference, and earned an associate's degree … Helped his team reach back-to-back Final Four State Championships … Made 13 appearances in 2018, tossing 27.2 innings with a 3.90 ERA … In 2019, made 11 starts and 19 appearances throwing 75.2 innings with a 6-3 record and 56 strikeouts.

HIGH SCHOOL -- Attended Christian Brothers High School in Sacramento, Calif. where he lettered in baseball from 2016-17 … Competed in the San Joaquin section of the Capital Athletic League … Helped his team win the sectional and conference championships in 2017 as they were voted the best Division III team in the state by Cal-Hi Sports … Earned first-team All-Conference and named Pitcher of the Year from 2016-17 and first-team All-State in 2017 … From 2016-17, posted a 1.36 ERA with a 17-4 record, 113 innings pitched, 125 strikeouts and even pitched a perfect game.

PERSONAL -- Son of George and Samantha Cunha … Originally from San Jose, Calif. … Has one younger sister, Kennedy … Majoring in Human Development and Family Studies … Plans to become a collegiate or professional baseball coach after college … Chose Nevada because of the beautiful campus and the culture that Coach Bruce has created … Lists Dallas Kuechel as someone he likes to model his game after because of how he attacks the zone and is competitive … Most memorable moment of his career was starting game 5 of the CCCAA baseball championship as a freshman … In his free time enjoys coaching 15u baseball during the summer and watching movies with his roommates.
