NEVADA CAREER
JUNIOR (2024): One of just two players to appear in all 51 games (along with Michael Ball), making 50 starts ... Batted .303, led the team in runs scored (45) and on-base percentage (.414), and shared the team lead in triples (three) ... Tied for second on the team in home runs (10), second on the team in slugging (.579) ... Drove in 37 runs and had 18 doubles ... Went 3-for-5 with a homer and two RBIs at UC Riverside (Feb. 17) ... Walked twice, scored twice, and drove in a run in series-clinching win over the Highlanders (Feb. 18) ... Had two multi-hit games in series at San Francisco, going 2-for-4 with a double and RBI in the opener (Feb. 23) and 3-for-5 with a homer, double, and RBI in the finale (Feb. 25) ... Singled and scored a run in back-to-back games against UNLV (March 18-19) ... Went 2-for-4 in consecutive games, at San Francisco (March 22) and against New Mexico (March 24), with a double and an RBI in the latter ... Went a combined 8-for-14 with two doubles and seven RBIs in three-game series against San José State (March 31-April 2), with two 3-for-4 games ... Doubled and drove in two at UNLV (April 7) ... HIGH SCHOOL
Freethy, whose real name is John but goes by the nickname JR, is a utility player out of Rocklin, Calif. and Granite Bay High School... Over the course of his high school career he has picked up first team all-league honors as well as being named the Team MVP and Offensive MVP at Granite Bay, all in 2019... During that 2019 season, posted a .425 batting average and collected 37 hits, both of which led the Sierra Foothill League... As part of his club baseball career, his NorCal baseball club captured the Arizona Fall Classic Championship in 2017.
