Clear Bag Policy

Clear Bag Policy in effect at all Wolf Pack athletics venues

The University of Nevada, in an effort to provide a safer environment for the public and to expedite entry into the athletic venues, has implemented a policy limiting the size and type of bag allowed for all events. The policy went into effect at all campus athletics venues beginning in the 2018-19 athletics season.

Approved Bags:
•    Clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC  tote bags that do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12”
•    One-gallon clear plastic storage bags
•    Small Clutch Purses  4.5” X 6.5” or smaller

Exceptions:
An exception will be made for medically necessary items and diaper bags after proper inspection.   These bags will be tagged to inform venue security that the bag has been cleared by the gate inspection member and to limit any disturbance to the patron once inside the stadium.

Prohibited Items:
The following bag-types are prohibited, but not limited to:  backpacks, camera cases, luggage, tinted plastic bags, mesh bags, oversized purses, or any bag larger than the permissible size.

FAQs
Why is the University of Nevada adopting this policy?
Nevada Athletics continues to review its policies to enhance public safety and improve efficiency in crowd flow.  Limiting the size and style of bags carried into our venues will help maintain a safe and secure environment for our fans, staff, and players.  We hope that this measure will result in shorter lines at the entrances and improve the overall experience for our fans.
How does this improve public safety?
Clear bags allow our guest services and security staff to do a quick visual look at the contents of the bag without having to have the guest stop and open the bag.  This policy will allow us to quickly identify and prohibit entry of any prohibited items.
Do many other venues allow only clear bags?
Yes, the entire NFL, the SEC, Big 10, and most of the Pac 12 schools have clear bag policies for their venues.   Additionally, Colorado State, San Diego State, and UNLV have also adopted the clear bag policy at their venues with more MW schools expected to join in soon.
How many bags can each person bring in?
Each patron (including children) will be allowed one clear bag (12” x 6” x 12” or 1 gallon storage bag) in addition to a small clutch.
Can fans carry cameras, binoculars, smart phones, seat backs, and blankets separately from what they put in the bag?
Yes.  All of these items can be carried into the athletic venue, either on their own or in a clear plastic storage bag.  This is not a restriction on items that fans have been able to bring into the athletic venue previously.  It is only a restriction on the type of bag used to carry the items.
What if I have a medical or diaper bag that I need to bring into the venue?
Please let the guest services member know that you have a medical reason or infant that requires you to have the bag.  We ask that you bring the diaper bag to the gate the same time that the infant is also entering the facility.  The guest services member will discretely search the contents and then provide a tag that allows you to bring the bag into the facility.
What happens if I show up at the entrance with a bag that is not permitted?
Patrons carrying bags that do not meet the approved bag requirements will be asked to return the bag to their vehicle before being allowed admittance to the venue.
What can I do to help get into the stadium as quickly as possible?
Please use one of the approved bags above and know which items are prohibited from entry.  Gates open two hours prior to kickoff.

We look forward to seeing you support the Wolf Pack this season and are committed to providing you the best fan experience possible!
