2020 (Fr. *Season shorted due to COVID-19) – Saw action in 11 games with eight starts on the season … Started behind the plate in four games, covered third base in three and was the designated player in one contest … Plated two runs on the season along with one extra base hit and drew two walks … Had a season best game against CSU Bakersfield where she went 2-for-2 with an RBI … Recorded her first collegiate hit, a double, against Oregon in Mexico where she went 1-for-3.

HIGH SCHOOL - A letter-winner in all three years she has competed in high school, where she was nominated as a Gatorade Player of the Year in both her sophomore and junior years … Named RGJ All North Team in 2017 and 2018 … Awarded All-American honors in 2017 as an underclassmen … Received 4A First Team Catcher all three years … Involved in the National Honor Society and was named to the Bishop Manogue Honor Roll in 2018…Plays for the West Coast Smoke 18U.

PERSONAL - Daughter of Anthony and Shari Merlino ... Has three sibilings, two sisters and a younger brother, Jesslyn, Sierra and Travis ... Has a cousin, Cindy Elkins who played softball for Nevada from 2003-2006 ... Chose Nevada because, "I wanted to be close to home as well as all my friends and family.
