2020 (Sr. *Season shorted due to COVID-19):
Played in all 14 contests, starting in the outfield in 13 of them … Batted .115 on the year with six hits and three runs scored … Two of those hits were doubles … Had a season-best two hits and scored one run with a double against California Baptist (3/6) to help Nevada claim its first victory of the season … Stole two bags on the season … Recorded 19 putouts with two assists and only one error.

2019 (Jr.): Had a breakout season for the Wolf Pack in his first year as a center fielder, leading the team with a career-high .339 batting average … Named first-team All-Mountain West after batting .360 in conference, the fifth-best in the MW and led the league with 17 stolen bases … His 25 stolen bases on the year ranked as the sixth-most in a single season by a Nevada player … Set a career-highs with 48 games played, 45 starts, 61 hits, eight doubles, three homers, and 24 RBI … Boasted a .385 on-base percentage and .381 slugging … Had a season and career-high four RBI in the first game of the season against No. 24 Missouri State, where hit a three-run homer … Led Nevada with 11 three-hit games and totaled 15 multi-hit games of the season … Ranked fourth on the team with six multi-RBI games … Best game of the season came at Saint Mary’s (4/9) when he went 3-for-4 at the plate with three RBI … Hit two walkoff singles for Nevada, one against Saint Mary’s (3/19) and Air Force (3/29) … Lettered for the third time.

2018 (So.): Appeared in 35 games, making 31 starts and the most on the team at shortstop … Batted .252 on the season with 26 hits, two doubles and eight RBITied for sixth in the Mountain West in triples with three … Recorded seven two hit games, and a three hit game against San Jose State (3/11) … Ninth in the conference in stolen bases, with seven … In a 2-0 win at No. 13 Cal State Fullerton, went 2-for-3 at the plate including hitting the go-ahead RBI triple in the seventh inning … Lettered for the second time.

2017 (Fr.): As a freshman, appeared in 28 games while starting 19 at second base (6), third base (7), shortstop (5) and designated hitter …  Recorded a batting average of .212 with one home run and six RBI … On the defensive side, had 83 chances with 33 putouts and 44 assists … Best game of the season came at Fresno State (3/4) where he went 2-for-2 at the plate with three RBI, a home run and a run scored … Lettered for the first time.

PRIOR TO NEVADA
High School: Lettered three years in baseball at Santa Monica High School in Santa Monica, Calif. … Was named defensive player of the year as a junior as well as second-team All-Ocean League … As a senior was named first-team all-Ocean League and was awarded offensive player of the year … Was a participant in the Goodwill Series in Australia … Hit .387 as a senior with 36 hits and 13 RBI.

Liberal arts major … Son of Jason and Ayesha McLaughlin … Decided to come to Nevada after being drafted in the 38th round of the 2016 MLB draft by the New York Mets … Enjoys watching defensive highlights in Major League Baseball as well as watching military movies and listening to new music … Feels that Coach Bruce is the best infield coach in the nation and wants to be his next big league production … Career highlight was hitting a two-run go ahead single in the top of the ninth inning in a second round playoff game, as well as having 12 game hitting streaks in both his junior and senior seasons … Sports heroes are J.P.
