Biography

2021 (Jr.) – Played in 30 games with 25 starts … recorded five multi-hit performances … homered against UNLV and Utah State … posted a four-game hit streak on April 1-10 … helped Nevada secure a series sweep over UNLV with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate, including two RBI and one run scored … hit .276 with 24 hits, 22 runs, 10 RBI, 16 walks, five doubles and two home runs … committed just three errors on the season and tallied 26 putouts and two assists … letter winner.

2020 (Jr. *Season shorted due to COVID-19) – Continued her success in left field as a starter in all 24 contests … Recorded six multi-hit games and six multi-RBI games … Set a new career record in hits in a single game after going 4-for-4 against Utah Valley in Moraga, Calif. … Was the first Wolf Pack player to hit a home run on the season helping Nevada beat CSUN for the first time in program history, 7-1 … Tallied a new career high in doubles in a single game with two in the series finale with Stanford … Finished the season hitting .284 with 21 hits, 11 runs, six doubles a triple and two home runs … Ranked second on the team in walks drawn, third in slugging and fourth in batting average … Committed just two errors on the year and set a new single game career record with five putouts against Oregon State.

2019 (So.) – Just one of three that started in every contest of the season … Played left field primarily with one contest in right field … Had seven multi-hit games including a three hit game against Marist where she went 3-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored to help the Pack win, 8-2 … Tallied a season high weekend against New Mexico after going 6-for-10 with two home runs, eight RBI, and five runs scored … Had one of her best Mountain West games of the season in the 5-1 win over Fresno State after going 2-for-2 with a homerun and drawing two intentional walks … Ranked third on the team in RBI, doubles and home runs … Committed just six errors on the year … Named Academic All-Conference … Letter winner.

2018 (Fr.) – Made the most of her first career start, launching a solo home run to mark the first hit of her career … Went 1-for-2 with a run scored in the Pack’s series-clinching win over SDSU … Drew six walks in her 13 appearances, resulting in a .444 on-base percentage … Helped Nevada make back-to-back postseason appearances since the 2008-09 seasons … Letter winner.

HIGH SCHOOL – Received first team All-OIA and All-State honors in 2017 … Named a 2013-14 second team OIA Red West All-Star ... Earned second team All-State honors in 2014-15 … Lettered in softball all four years of high school as well as three years in soccer … Finished her senior season batting .567 with six home runs, 19 RBIs and 22 runs scored … Batted .415, scored 13 runs and recorded 22 RBIs in her junior season … A member of the ASA Guava Jam softball club … Part of the Principle’s List and earned the Lino Caling Award.

PERSONAL – Daughter of Alasi Mata’utia and Jovann Sylve-Mata’utia … Has two younger brothers, Ariez Sylve-Mata’utia and Alijah Sylve-Mata’utia ... Her dad, Alasi, played football at Dixie State … Chose Nevada because of the great atmosphere, weather and campus … Also recruited by Iowa State and Azusa Pacific … Lists Bo Jackson as her sports hero because he played two professional sports … Lists a TV game in which she went 4-for-4 with a home run, followed by a grand slam to win the game, as the most memorable moment of her career … Enjoys binge watching anything, going to the beach, hiking and hanging out with family … Majoring in Criminal Justice.
